About Deborah Ferguson

Celebrating Strengths and Building Skills in Partnership With Individuals Who Think, Learn, and Experience the World Differently

What Have I Been Up To For The Past Few Decades ?

As an occupational therapist and coach I've spent most of my adult life working with children, youth and adults with diverse life challenges. As a passionate life-long learner, I've pursued continuing education certifications and advanced training in sensory processing, neurodevelopment, social-emotional skills, learning challenges, therapeutic listening, qigong, hypnosis, mindfulness, mind- body skills and integrative health and wellness.

You guessed it!  I consider learning to be as much fun as gardening, knitting, cooking, playing my guitar, and hanging out in coffee shops with friends. However, spending time in classes doesn't quite top spending time with my husband, children, and grandchildren.

What's important about all this? One of my greatest passions is translating the latest information in development and neuroscience into practical information and actions that support the unique interests, talents, and goals of my clients and myself.  I rarely teach or recommend things I haven't tried or benefited from.

That being said my greatest learning experiences continue to come from working with exceptional and creative children, youth, adults, teachers, and therapists who are successfully navigating the possibilities and challenges of daily life.

So here I am in 2025 developing my newest program - Sheltering Branch Coaching. I hope that we can learn together and cultivate a community that celebrates diversity and honors the potential of every person.
