Become A Sensory Scientist:  Create Sensory Friendly Environments to Live, Work, and Play.

Do You Experience the Sensory World Differently? This Course is For You!

Does discomfort with touch make experiences such as dressing, bathing, making things with your hands, or being close to others uncomfortable? Are you distracted or overwhelmed by different types of sounds in your environment? Do you feel unsettled or dizzy with movement? Do your sensory experiences make it difficult to participate in home, school, work, or community activities?

We do not all experience the sensory world in the same way. Most of us are more comfortable with some experiences, and less comfortable with others. Is this a problem?  Not necessarily. You may find that over time you have adapted to some of your sensory differences and that’s a good thing. But if you are limiting your participation in activities and environments that are necessary or important to you in your daily life, then you can benefit from some new strategies for being more comfortable in your body and in the world.

The good news is that if you have sensory challenges you can learn to reset your nervous system and create sensory friendly experiences and environments to reduce your stress, enjoy more things, and pursue what is important to you. This course will help you learn new strategies and apply the tools you learn to conquer sensory stress!

Welcome to this Space for Learning and Growth

I'm Deborah Ferguson, occupational therapist and personal coach. I help individuals with diverse ways of experiencing the world celebrate strengths, navigate challenges, and build skills to live a life that fully expresses their potential.

I've spent more than 35 years supporting children, youth and adults with diverse sensory, motor, and social-emotional challenges as they've learned to creatively meet the demands of daily life. I  am certified in sensory integration and sensory processing disorders, and have a special interest in the intersection of sensory processing, ADHD, autism, anxiety, stress, and mental health.

My goal is to translate the latest information in development and neuroscience into practical information and actions that support your goals and interests.
